The hand painted resin topper on this walking stick is really beautiful and will make a perfect gift for someone special. The hardwood shaft is beech and has been finished to a smooth, glossy standard. The height to the top of the handle is 92cm (36.2 Inches) but it can be shortened if required (just add the crop service to your order above and tell us the new height needed). The tip has a metal ferrule on it so if you want a rubber ferrule to go over the top of this, please add it to your order above. The total weight is 430 grams as the resin handle makes it a little heavier than the traditional all wood walking sticks. The pheasant is Britain's best-known game bird. It was introduced to the country by the Normans in the 11th century for sporting purposes. The cock pheasant has extravagantly coloured plumage, including the distinctive red patches on either side of the head. The female nests in a shallow depression in th eground under a hedge or in the tall grass. The male often accompanies several females and will defend them and his territory from other males in dramatic fights.
